Parihan receives Iowa Brace in Pakistan

Our 2022 Braces for Hope campaign is raising money to send Iowa Braces to Clubfoot Cuties in Pakistan, working with Indus Hospital. Two of the Iowa Brace success stories in Pakistan are those of Muhammad and Parihan.

Given that 90% of the 7,000 children born in Pakistan each year with clubfoot don’t get adequate treatment, we are overjoyed to see these cuties getting to live happy and productive lives!

Parihan

We were extremely upset, more so because she’s a girl. Life with a deformity would have been very tough for her. I am employed in a factory, barely managing basic needs of my family. Hence, opting for costly treatments was and is simply out of the question for me.

I am very satisfied with the treatment at the Indus Hospital, Pehla Qadam program. The braces are very comfortable and easy to put on. Seeing my little daughter walking normally is like the feeling she gets wings; now she can aim and fly high.

Muhammad

Muhammad Hadi’s family was hopeless and confused when they saw their child’s condition for the first time after his birth. They had never heard of clubfoot and were convinced their child would be crippled his whole life. He is now 3 years old and currently on the Iowa braces. According to parents, the braces are very comfortable and easy to wash.

His mother said, “It is impossible for me to express the hardships and strain we went through. We saw no silver lining in our son’s future until we visited the Indus Hospital, Pehla Qadam program. Now our son is making his way to recovery, we are very delighted and confident that Muhammad Hadi will live a normal and healthy life.”
