Suzanne and Byron Bork

Byron Bork and his wife Suzanne are pictured with a copy of Lucky’s Feet, a recently published children’s book that tells the story of a young boy’s remarkable transformation from a life of isolation and disability due to clubfoot to a normal, happy childhood. Suzanne is a retired elementary library media specialist from the Iowa City Community School District. Byron, a physical therapist, is a retired Lecturer from The University of Iowa. The Borks were so impressed with Lucky’s Feet that they donated a copy to each library in their district’s twenty-one elementary schools. Kristi Harper, the district’s library coordinator, said, “The book is very informative and child-friendly with beautiful illustrations. It will be a wonderful addition to our elementary school libraries.” The Borks hope that others will consider providing copies of Lucky’s Feet to schools in their communities to help build awareness of clubfoot and its treatment. A narrated version of the book is available on YouTube at: https://youtu.be/TeHZ6ssGgmk or Facebook https://fb.watch/26wcbhMhmW/.
