Orthopedic Solutions to Surgical Access, Inc. (OSSA) in Guatemala and Clubfoot Solutions are working together to help children in Guatemala and the rest of Latin America. We’ve sent two shipments of the Iowa Brace to their clinic in San Marcos. The braces have been used by their Orthopedic Resident and the president of Guatemala’s Ponseti International Association in Guatemala City. The Resident Clinic in its first year saw 17 new patients.
There are other providers throughout the country interested as well! In the last 9 months OSSA has sponsored Ponseti technique training workshops for Orthopedic physicians in western Guatemala. In addition, they just participated in a Zoom conference for Ponseti International Guatemala led by President Dr. Ana Zambrano on June 3, 2020. There were attendees from Latin America including Dominican Republic, Panama, and Costa Rica.
